Sorry I haven't been updating regularly. I've had a few days off and have had my mind on relaxing and not thinking about computers and the internet. But, I should get better at it this week.
Well, it has been a very strange few days for me. So instead of just telling you with words, I'll show you with pictures and do a little narrating along the way.
This was the view from the lodge at
Brighton Ski Resort. Several of my friends go here on Christmas day and I went up to hang out for a couple hours.
Another shot from the lodge.
I awoke at about 4 AM Friday morning to sub-freezing temperatures. My power had gone out in the night and I was freezing. I poked my head out my front door and saw this sight. It snowed almost 14 inches in the initial 24 hours. Meanwhile, my power didn't come back on for almost 44 hours.
I had to spend the second night at a friend's house because my heat still was not on. This was his front yard. Notice the inches of snow on the bush to the right, and how the tree on the left is sagging from the weight of the snow.
This was the next morning. The tree in the picture was torn in half by the weight of the snow. It was pretty crazy to see.
A shot down the street.
And another.
Look how the snow was piled almost as high as the street sign.
The real interesting part of this picture is gone. There was a Jeep Wrangler parked in the empty spot where the cones are. The fallen tree to the right crushed it to absolutely nothing. But when I got there to take the picture, it had already been towed.
Every year, my friend John builds a little snowboard park in his backyard. This year, I took the opportunity to do some action photos. Here is one. By the way, there's a funny story about his landlord who came and yelled at us that I'll add later.
And another.
Yet another.
This night, we had sushi. My buddy AJ got a "Caterpillar Roll" and I thought it was cool, so I took a picture. Note the "antenna" made of some sort of vegetable leaf.
Here's one of my rolls. It had crab, tuna, salmon and was called a Tsunami. It was bomb, yo.
And after. Note the
Sapporo, as well.

And we've had nothing but a small dusting of snow here. Hope you had a good holiday and a happy new year. I'll talk to you later.
