The Return of the King

December 17, 2003

I don't know exactly what to say. I just got home from seeing The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. It's 4:20 in the morning and I can barely see straight to type.

My reason for doing so, though, is to let you all know that you must see this movie as fast as humanly possible. I should, but probably won't, be at work in less than four hours, and you should as you read this be making plans with yourself to see it.

I'm not sure if that came out the way I intended it to, but I think you get the point. Let's make a deal. I won't come back tomorrow after I get up and fix any grammatical errors. Nor will I attempt to write better structured, more illustrative sentences, if you promise to go see this movie as soon as orcly possible. (I think I'm going to rue this deal.) One stipulation, however, if you don't comment that after reading this post you made plans, then our deal is off and I can revisit this.

Deal? Deal.

You won't regret it. I don't want to ruin anything for anybody, so I will just say that this movie is on a whole different level than anything you've ever seen. Watching this movie is on par with watching Gone With The Wind back in 1932 or '29 or whenever it was released. You are witnessing cinematic history.

'Nough said.

I will be seeing this movie on Saturday, I believe. I think my husband would be very upset with me if I saw it without him and he works every day until then. But I PROMISE I will see this soon.

Well, I've been up for almost an hour. I just called in sick for the day.

Good job Jill! Saturday is sort of weak, but as long as its the first week you should be okay.

Did you ever finish reading it? If you didn't, you're going to want to after you see the movie.

Um....finished reading....um.. Okay, I confess. I read The Fellowship of the Ring, but I didn't read the other two yet. I don't know why, but they're hard for me to read. I swear, I will read them though. Promise!!! (I did read The Hobbit as well though, so that counts for something.)

Speaking of calling in sick, I went to lunch and when I came back, Mark had gone home 'sick'. I'd be willing to bet that he went to see ROTK.

YES!!! Mark going home sick? on the day ROTK comes out? YES!!! That's hilarious.

You have to tease him about it. I remember him doing something like that last year too, although I can't remember exactly what he did.

Well, he certainly didn't seem sick. And then all the sudden he's home 'sick' and his email said "I'm planning on being in tomorrow." So that led me to believe this was a pre-meditated sickness! I plan on questioning him tomorrow. ;-)
