I picked up a music tip from Matt on Ten Years Of My Life. So, I'm passing it on to you. Its Nellie McKay (pronounced "Mc-Kuy" like "guy") and its very different, but very good.
Go over to NPR and check out some of her live stuff in their studio. Its pretty awesome. Her debut CD, Get Away From Me (which is a play on Norah Jones' album Come Away With Me), includes jazz, rap, blues, Latin, rock and more, reflecting her eclectic life -- she was born in London and grew up in Harlem.
Her CD is on iTunes too, so I think I'll be picking it up.
