Knee Pain
Since one of my other friends has gone to the doctor recently for her broken tailbone. I figure I should tell you about my recent, well, a few weeks ago, visit to a doctor of sports medicine.
To give you some background information, I had been experiencing some knee pain during and after running, along with my left knee just "giving out" when making a hard cut in basketball. So I spoke to my running mentor and trainer and he referred me to what is supposed to be the best sports medicine doctor in the state of Utah. (He treats Utah Jazz players and University of Utah athletes.)
I was rather nervous before I went in, but when I arrived I was quite comfortable. He asked me about my training regimen, habits, diet and lifestyle. He did some basic tests, you know, jumping up and down on one foot, going into a squatting position while standing on one leg, and a couple others. He knew almost instantly what was wrong with me, but took an x-ray just in case. I read Sports Illustrated in the small seeing room while the film was developed.
He returned in a few minutes and showed me the photos of the inside of my knee. It all looked good to me, but what do I know? He, actually, said the same thing. Except he left off the "what do I know" part. He said I look good, look to be in good shape, am strong, weigh the right amount, and should continue my training as scheduled. He had an interesting explanation for whats going on in my knee.
He said my increased aerobic activity has thinned my muscles in all of my body. This is normal and to be expected for somebody running as much as I am. One of the main muscles that this is noticeable in is my thighs or quadriceps. It makes sense that these muscles would shrink. So when I ask them to hold my knee from buckling, as it is supposed to, they can't hold as much as I'm used to asking them to. That makes sense in my head, so if you don't understand, sorry.
Since then, I have begun to cross-train at least one day a week. My cross training is to cycle for 45 minutes.
I know its not as bad as breaking my tailbone, but hey, its my visit to the doctor.

Now With 98% Less Content
At this time, I'd like to apologize for the recent (last 2-3 months) of inconsequential, bland, and otherwise valueless content provided here at Agonotheta. My posts have gone from average writing about boring topics to bad writing about non-topics. For this, I say sorry and thank you for staying tuned. In the next few months, my writing should pick up in frequency, quality and may even be somewhat entertaining and informative.
Excuses include: busy summer; feeling less than creative; not motivated; disdain for the web caused by spending so much damned time on it; and a shitty life in general that nobody, least of all myself, wants to hear, read or write about.
But all of this is about to change. Fairwell summer! Welcome fall!

Roommates
As a result of said changes, my roommate is moving out and I'm getting a new one.
In fact, I'm getting one that I will probably definitely get along with better than my current one. My new one is going to be my old friend Erik.
He's never moved out of his parent's home (besides a quick 2 month stint in the MTC) so I think this will be really good for him.
Not that I don't like my current roommate, but he's just not very clean and sort of a scatterbrain. He has his foot in so many different wading pools that he never seems to be completely present, no matter how serious the situation he's currently in.
Erik on the other hand, can get on my nerves, but only in the way a brother could.

Changes
Things are changing in my life. I wish I could explain it to all of you, but it wouldn't do it justice and you certainly would leave more confused than just stating the above.
These won't be permanent changes, for they will just be necessary for a short time. When I say short, I mean, relatively short, as in only 6-12 months. Within one year, everything will be back to normal.
Don't worry, I'm not dying. I'm not going in for chemo-therapy or something. I am having to change my social circle for awhile. It may sound weird, but it will be for my own good and will help me in many ways.
Wow, could I be anymore vague?

Back From Philly
I'm back from my Philly trip! I had a blast too. (Did you have any doubt?!) I'll fill everybody in on it when I get a chance, but for now, I need to catch up on all the work that has been piling up for the last week. But just to whet your appetite, let me just say that a New Jersey accent can be pretty hot when its coming out of the right girl's mouth.

First Vacation
Today, I start my first actual vacation since graduating from college one year ago. Sure, I've taken a day off here and there, but until now I've never pieced together more than one day off of work. I'm really looking forward to it.
My friend Mikey and I are flying into Baltimore, Maryland where we'll be picked up by our friend Tim. We'll then drive to Philadelphia, where Tim is from, and spend a day or two there. Then, we'll go bum around the beach in New Jersey. On Friday, Tim gets married to his fionce Amanda. Then on Saturday we're taking a train to New York City where we'll hang out with a good friend of mine, Justin. Sunday evening we fly back to Salt Lake.
Its going to be a whirlwind vacation, but it'll be worth it. Plus, it'll be great to give Tim some support from his friends in Utah, where he currently resides. I'll try to post photos happenings a couple of times throughout the week.

Painted Sideskirts and I-Badge

Last weekend, my brother-in-law and I painted my sideskirts to match the rest of my car. For some reason, the stock sideskirts were a dull black and I thought they'd look better if they matched the rest of the car. So, here's what my car looks like with them off as well as the gas door that was removed to match the paint.

After letting the paint cure for a couple of days, I washed the car very good inside and out. I also put on a new front emblem. This emblem has a lower-case "i" and sort of a tribal decoration around it. I got it because its the one that is used by Subaru in Japan and Europe for their Imprezas. It is a lot brighter and catches your attention immediately.
You'll also notice the front bumper trim that I got to cover the front license plate bracket. I can't stand front bumper license plates, so this little item works great.
Also, I updated my WRX Upgrade Path page.
Here's a couple more pictures. Let me know what you think.
