Spam Redux
You know it's bad when your post about spam gets spammed.

Spam Whores
Sheesh! Last night I got raped by spam whores. I'm guessing they have some sort of bot or something that scanned my site because they even spammed some entries that are drafts and aren't even public. So, I just spent the last ten minutes deleting 19 offending comments, closing commenting on the entries, and republishing. It was pretty annoying. I know there's some great plug-ins like MT-Blacklist, but I think my MT installation is barely running as it is and I don't want to screw anything up.

Stripes
As you can tell, I'm playing with a new design. For some reason, though, the banner isn't displaying correctly. It has something to do with the padding I had to have on it before, but I don't know yet how I can fix it. Stay tuned and please bear with me.
UPDATE:
I got the banner fixed. All seems well with the style, however for some reason Moveable Type is having trouble rebuilding the site and only about half of the Archives are showing the correct style. Weird, huh? I'll work on it when I have time, but I'm not too worried about it.

Now With 98% Less Content
At this time, I'd like to apologize for the recent (last 2-3 months) of inconsequential, bland, and otherwise valueless content provided here at Agonotheta. My posts have gone from average writing about boring topics to bad writing about non-topics. For this, I say sorry and thank you for staying tuned. In the next few months, my writing should pick up in frequency, quality and may even be somewhat entertaining and informative.
Excuses include: busy summer; feeling less than creative; not motivated; disdain for the web caused by spending so much damned time on it; and a shitty life in general that nobody, least of all myself, wants to hear, read or write about.
But all of this is about to change. Fairwell summer! Welcome fall!

Summertime and the Livin's Easy
Summer is a busy time. I know that. You know that. I am busy. You are busy. So if you're wondering why I haven't been posting, I'm just going to leave it at that.
I want to post. I have some great ideas in mind. I just lack a little motivation and time.
So I'll try to get you caught up on a few things in the next few posts.

Not A Band-Aid®
Well, I've spent several hours over the last day and a half getting my Archives working properly and updating all of the individual entries to reflect some of the new things on my stylesheet.
Now all I have left is to get my comment page styled as well as get my Photos page up and running.
I need to get these things done as soon as possible, because I know if I don't it is bound to either A) not happen for months or B) never happen (which is the more likely of the two). Because I've spent a lot of time thinking about this site, I've added a lot of features and styles that I have wanted for awhile, but never got around to. Actually, now that I think about it, every design I've had up 'til now has been a Band-Aid® to hold me over 'til I get time to work on a design.
But no more.
This is a design that I like, using sufficient styles to keep me happy for awhile. In fact, this will be the default style and when I finish some of the other styles I've been working on or have in mind, I'll add a "style-switcher," which will be cool.
Anyway, "look ma, no Band-Aids®! I'm healed!"

Paisley
Well, as you can tell, I've got a new design. I'm calling it "Paisley." To pull off this design, I've used the "Faux Columns" ALA article from Dan Cederholm, the Exclude Category Plug-In from Scott Andrew, Keith Robinson's Quicklinks Advice, and the ALA article "CSS Drop Shadows" on the images (although, I haven't gone back through my archives to add them to every image yet).
As you can tell, I'm still figuring things out with my Archives page. Being new to Movable Type I wasn't able to test what I built until I uploaded it. Anyway, I'll get it working ASAP.
If you like it, don't like it, found an error or anything else, please leave a comment or use my new Contact Form.

Pg. 23 Sentence 5
Instructions:
- Grab the nearest book.
- Open the book to page 23.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the text of the sentence on your blog along with these instructions.
From: The Action Hero's Handbook by David Borgenicht and Joe Borgenicht.
"The bad guy will use a soft cloth to eliminate or make unreadable fingerprints from the entry door and doorknobs, drawers, windows and latches, telephones, glasses, and so forth."
On my desk at work, I also have The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook, and The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Work.
All of them were gifts. Now that I think of it, my friends must think I'm very adventurous and that books like this will come in handy for somebody like Indiana Jones and I. Or, then again, they could think I'm tremendously unlucky.

Movable Type
Well, you've undoubtedly noticed how bland and boring the site has become. Actually, that's because I have moved from Typepad to Movable Type. This made much more sense because I have full control over my templates now as well as the site structure, which for me was a major factor leading to my move.
I'd love to have a great design up, but I'm still learning the MT tags and with the move, I've had to go through every entry and make sure all the links, images, photos and the like are still functioning.
Anyway, I know its very boring right now, but I'm working on a new design, actually a few, that I think you'll like. So just bear with me for a couple of weeks.

A Welcomed Compliment
On checking my referrer logs, I noticed a link from Mono. It seems that the author of Mono, Lars Holst, of Malmö, Sweden, has selected several weblogs that he felt were aesthetically pleasing. He chose these based on several factors, but mainly kept it to blogs he felt "looked good."
In Well-Designed Weblogs Volume 2, one of his selections was Agonotheta.
Thanks Lars! That's a great compliment from a guy who has a great design and obviously knows what he's talking about.

Et Cetera On A Tuesday
I will have a better post up later. But for now, I figured I'd give you a few little nuggets of information to tide you over.
- » First, I've tried cleaning up the site a bit. By that I mean I played with the sidebars. I've added a Made On A Mac button. I've changed my Typepad Logo. I've also added a Curb Your Enthusiasm button to the Watching Category. The new season started a couple of weeks ago, and I know it was going to be a permanent thing on there. (If you've never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm, its simply the best thing on TV since Seinfeld. The plot essentially follows Larry David, who was the creator of Seinfeld, in his life after the award-winning series ended. The character of George Costanza was based on his life and experiences. In short, just imagine a series that revolves around George's buffoonery, but because language is not a factor on HBO, people don't refrain from "going off" on the guy.)
- » For the last couple of weeks, I've plateaued above the 200 person/day hit count, which is pretty cool.
- » At work, I've been given a huge online survey that needs to be done by next week. It will involve some heavy database programming, PHP, MySQL, et cetera, et cetera.
- » Also, I've finished the initial draft for the layout of a recruitment/PR folder for the district. The layout was approved, but I will be making a few minor adjustments before it goes to print. Its a fun change of pace designing for print.

To: Anonymous
It has come to my attention that I know more and more of you readers than I thought I did. And of all the readers I know that visit my site on a daily basis, only a handful of you leave comments regularly.
You know who you are. I know who you are.
I implore you, dear reader, to leave a comment. Let me know you exist metaphysically, because I know who you are physically.

Weird Searches
I decided to record all the searches that brought people to my site. This wasn't anything scientific, I just tried looking at my logs as often as I could and record what was searched for. I set it to automatically publish ten days from the day I started it. Of course, I didn't record multiples, otherwise this would be an endless list of Scarlett Johannson searches (which, by the way, is reaching anywhere from 30-50 hits per day, as I am ranked #3 on Google now, right behind the Internet Movie Database and Women.com). So here ya go, peruse some of my old stuff if you'd like. And when I say old, I mean October.
- » beautiful sisters
- » How To Write A Smut Letter
- » Scarlett Johannson
- » Piece of Shit Car
- » Sauerkraut and Bratwurst
- » A Copy Of A Copy Of A Copy
- » news from taiwain
- » gavin degraw girlfriend
- » crazy website
- » an old love
- » funny sketches
- » sweet names for girlfriends
- » nausea nerves
- » the perfect woman
- » if there's grass on the field
- » beautiful sisters photos incest
- » addicted to smirnoff raspberry twist vodka
- » miniskirts for 10 year olds
- » spoiled brat logos
- » make the perfect woman

Strange Scarlett Searches
An interesting phenomena is happening. Over a week ago, I wrote a little thing about how much I enjoyed Scarlett Johannson's lips . . . I mean, performance in Lost In Translation. But now, I'm getting several hits a day from Google for people searching for Scarlett Johannson.
So many in fact, that I'm now the #6 result. Number SIX! Pretty funny huh? The searches aren't just coming from the US. I've gotten some from Google UK, Google Thailand, and Google Canada.
I've gone international folks!
